I haven't unpacked this, because I'm using Hk's menu mod.. But I've examined it without unzipping anything, and I have to agree that the sound files in here... Some of them are just ridiculous. Sorry to say. Seriously, its like you just grabbed random sounds from like max payne or other video games... and not to mention, you didn;t give any credits for the sounds and the music. - Would you mind telling me what the names of those stepmania songs are? I noticed you renamed them for the purposes of the mod, but I think that the original names mentioned in a readme or somehow attached to the original file would have been nice.

Oh, and I have to agree with Hirato, they don't really fit with Sauerbraten. There are some great tracks in there, but its more techno than metal in there... Some of the tracks I admit, probably do sound great in sauerbraten. Some of them though, don't seem to match the feel of sauerbraten... I dunno, maybe I'm just nuts. Don't get me wrong, its pretty cool idea and all, I just think that maybe the choices in this pack are not exactly on the money if ya know what I mean. If you plan on releasing another version, please consider using some different sound files.

-First of all, try the mod in-game instead on just "spying" the files (you should wait for tomorrow though 'cause I'm going to release a small patch that day).
-Second, I made some of those sounds. Others are used with permission.
-Third, you can see the names of the stepmania songs in the "stepmania" tab on the jukebox menu. They're exactly the same as in the Stepmania game. I just had to rename the .ogg files and convert some of them to work with the game correctly.
-Yes, I know some of those songs don't exactly fit with Sauerbraten, but I was trying to add some non-rock music... all of them actually feel good though.

Also, a note to people: the version used in this mod for HK's menus is still v2.20. I will try to update it tomorrow to the latest version.

The download is actually fast enough for me (more than 300 KB/s) but I've seen some people getting problems with it, though not much. The Best solution would be to use a download manager, which is fully supported there.
Still, I would definitely like to have a mirror for this... do send the link to it after you are done. I'll put it in the main page (with some special thanks) ;)

In other news, I've been barely working on my mod (busy busy busy...), but I may be able to release v2.5 soon enough, maybe at the start of the next month. Don't expect any patches this time though. Full installation only.

Before you start complaining - "DTurboKiller LT" has been marked as "warned" for ages now,
this is done (among other reasons) to allow moderators/admins to quickly ascertain wether to cut node-submitters some slack (e.g. newcomers not aware of the packaging guide and the user guide) or wether the content creator has been ignoring the netiquette of quadropolis repeatedly already. This is the case with "DTurboKiller LT" ... so - you have been warned!

I'll tell you why... You obviously haven't seen the download section of this node. It has 2 links there: one to the full install, the other to the patch. I would upload the mod here if it wasn't so big... but since it is, no can do.
I have absolutely NO idea why i'm marked as "warned" since I'm not doing ANYTHING wrong. Yet again this is due to your distraction...

Concluson: I'm seeing content AVAILABLE here... So I'm being warned for something I didn't even do.

.. wouldn't be really appropriate here - in public - but just this much:
A moderator/admin has warned you about inappropriate language/behaviour among other things,
this lead to your inital "warned"-state ... loosing it should only be a matter of time, provided no further entries appear necessary.

Downloads: yes, we can all see the links - but they're not on quadropolis, they lead somewhere else,
especially somewhere where I need to trust the hoster and enable JavaScript in my browser ... quadropolis is supposed to be a one-stop-shop - if there's content, it should be available from here.
The URL-field (or for that matter URLs in the description-text-field) may be given,
so that interested users can visit your site or check for maybe more current WiP-variants you haven't deemed worthy of updating the quadropolis node with ... but a basic download should be available here!

As other comments noticed : the site you're using isn't always very reliable anyway (ahemm, ok, so is quad sometimes, granted) - but our policy stands: the file needs to be hosted here.

If your file is truely too large for a regular upload to the node to take it you should approach the admins about that, we can fix that up :-)
Oh, .. I was gonna say - at least tell us how big the file is, but you already did.
Mmmh. 37 MB for v2.0 .. that really is quite a bit.
Okay - then I'd suggest a splitting of files anyway .. try to seperate the media-data from the config-data as much as possible and offer them as attachments to this node.

If 37 MB are considered big right now, then the current size (120 MB) is huge ;)
Still, I think I could do a (basic) 2.5 pre-release version of the mod... just the basic stuff, without the music. I think I can even do it today (that is, if I don't get tired first).

.. as far as I can make out from your descriptive text the MOD is mainly music (at least the bulk of the filesize is for music) .. how about making a "minimal" version, where your "jukebox" (I did one too in meATpAk - but I think it was too geeky for normal people to use, LOL) .. well, where it only organizes the fanatic soundtrack.
Include the gun-sound-replacements and taunts (whatever is that supposed to mean anyway? the animations and network message can't have been changed by you ... text-taunts?) and what-have-you ... just keep the filesize ... moderate :-P
Then simply point to your site for "additional content" ... how's that for a compromise?!?
Anyway - I don't have the last word on this, the community has to decide - your node did get a number of good ratings ... so let's make it into an acceptable node (re:quadropolis policies). Deal!?

Anyway I still need to do a few tweaks here and there today. Hopefully will publish it today. If I'm not mistaken, the basic package shouldn't be bigger than 10 MB.
Btw, they're text-taunts... with sounds :) Easy to bind a key to the taunts menu it is ;)

Re: sound size: perhaps you could use some better/higher compression?
Right now, all your sound effects are WAV files, while I'm pretty sure that you could compress them as Ogg Vorbis and still play them in Sauer fine.

*cough* if it's an extension to node 975 .. why don't you just package your changes/additions and tell people to get the base there - then politely ask wether Hirato Kirata AKA billy65bob can kindly keep his previous releases as attachments to his node.
This way each of you can happily update their work referrencing each other - can you say "community effort" ? :)

Heh, an extension... no way it is. I just use his menus for the mod (with permission, obviously) and modify them as I wish. This mod was here before those menus came anyway. It's so much more... especially this new version :)

In case you have trouble with the filesize I'd suggest you create a "dummy"-ZIP to upload here (just containing a text-file with "real data coming soon" or so) and then I can fix the file up via FTP .. but actually you shouldn't have any trouble really.

I'm having some trouble uploading files here... It seems to take a long time even to upload a 2 MB file for some very strange reason, where on mihd.net (the host I used to upload stuff to) would do it in seconds.
If I DO have a punishable time with this, I will temporarily host the files on mihd.net and then you could put them here as attachments? Would make my life easier if I get into trouble again...

I'm being told my last update is actually missing a few ] :). I always seem to not close something of, and grep isn't much help for checking as I have invalid syntax returned >.

how about something like

if that returns something other than 0 .. you gotta fix it.
if you use ViM hitting "%" will jump to the matching pendant of any bracket you're on - from the closing one to the opening one or vice-versa. HTH :)
