Detailed description

wake2 aka Bio-Dome by wakeup is a 1on1/ffa map for sauerbraten/cube2. I thought about an research base/exhibition of biologic material in a future where artificial intelligence replaced life. There are two versions included, wake2.ogz/cfg for gameplay and wake2_alpha.ogz/cfg for a visual demonstration of the theme. If you adapt the map, please use wake2_alpha.

I am really happy to present you my first serious map, because it took me %&!$ long! :> Special thanks go also to damfr0^, he did the major testing and helped me out with the layout.

The look is interesting, but apart from the yellow armour room (which is great), it's just a few small, randomly-connected rooms - there isn't much flow. Probably it would be okay if the rooms were bigger.

I agree to the rooms, but they are not randomly connected at all! There are several waypoints you HAVE to pass and some wich are important to keep your movement flow up. The connections are designed to let the players meet and to let them calculate where they will meet. It was really important for me that it is possible to hit the enemy with well placed rockets in large distance. Did i mention that you can jump through the whole map without breaks?

Okay after playing it with you I've changed my mind, it's superb but *very* small (read "pwnage opportunity"). 5/5

I think this map flows very well, by just running straight ahaid you´ll see the whole map, it´s easy to move around once you get used to those 90 degree turns. ;) I like the original theme, haven´t seen map like this in sauer before. Lighting is ok but there could be a bit more detail (texturing/geometry). Hmm, forgot to check the item-placement, so I´m not counting it now.

Original theme, nice playablity, no real flaws. No comment on item placement.
