New SP map from MitaMAN: AN ARMY OF ONE

Hello to all!

I have a new single player SAUERBRATEN map called "AN ARMY OF ONE". (3) maps and several new textures and models are included.

Story: You are Private Stan Sauer. You are the only human soldier left alive from the great "BRATEN WAR". Seek revenge against the Invaders. You must go out and....story lines, who needs story lines, just kill everything and have fun.

Note: New folders/files are added to "packages" and "models" folders. Packaging/folder structure per Aardappel's request.

**NONE OF THE EXISTING FILES IN THE 09-12-06 RELEASE VERSION OF SAUERBRATEN WILL BE OVERWRITTEN**

Extract the "mpsp6_final.zip" file into your Sauerbraten folder (not "packages" folder). Open the console, type "sp mpsp6a" (without quotes) and press enter.

Unless you have a high end video card, I suggest lowering the game resolution to 800x600 or 640x480. This map will push your system hard.

**Special thanks to makkE for all his texture, skinning, modeling, and PhotoShop advice.**

Everytime MitaMAN makes a new map, I repeat myself: best sp map ever.
This one is tough, challenging, perfectly balanced, geometry and texturing are very believable and consistent. Larger than the sum of it´s components, a true gaming gem.

What a great work ! I never played single player much, but now i ve got a challenge...

These textures are very nice and the levels look awesome. Perfect lighting.

Nothing more to say.

Where's that cave of yours?
I'd start my pilgrimage there right away ;-)

Awesome monster placement and trigger usage!
Quite a few nice tricks too -
with monsters ambushing you and
appearing in areas you think you've already cleared.
And that finish, heh! Fantastic!

To start i gave you five points, not only for being it a single player pack, but what a pack.

And quite an inspiration and having more than once looking, how the hell did he do that? The chainlink fence is sweet and one of those things that had me taking a seccond look.

Edit: I had some time to play it properly, man this is good, indeed, clever tricks and lay-out, monsters that ambush you, area's that where supposed to be cleared of monsters, suddenly there are at your back. Oh this is indeed good, a well deserved 5 points.

This is truly a masterpeice mitaMAN! The use of mapmodels and textures go into the extreeme. This is the best SP map pack I have ever seen or played. GREAT WORK!!! keep it up!

Nice, this new crate models are very cool.
I like to make heightmaps and normalmaps vor some of the new Textures,
that would look cool with bumpmap. :)

I have played through all of your cube and Sauerbraten maps and without a doubt this is the best ever. I dont think that you could possably improve on the level of gameplay, texture and mapmodel use, 5/5

P.s: Can i use the new grate and crate textures on a current map i am working on?

Anything that is in a mitaman folder (textures, models, or skins) please feel free to do anything you want (modify, bumpmap, etc...). I made those for everyone, no strings attached. Of course some credit would be nice!

Other textures and models that are in their own folders (with the mpsp6 download), yes they can be used "as is" in any Sauer map. As far as modifying those files I think you might need to get permission from the original arthurs (see enclosed map readme files).

I'm pretty sure that my map will be included in a future Sauer release, so any "rules that apply" to current Sauer content will also apply to content added by me.

Terrific fun MitaMan, fast, furious, and dare I say it, aesthetically pleasing. I've borrowed a couple of your textures for a map I'm fiddling with. I'd also like to nab that chain link fence model if I can ever figure out how to do it. Congratulations, sterling work.

the chain-link fence takes SP maps to a new level.
i've GOT to try and get that in my next release!!

THIS IS THE BEST! I love this sp so much! Serious sam meets quake 2, bloody awesome. This proves we need more sp maps and more MitaMAN! Keep it up!
