autosorry - Don't worry about your teamkill! This script says "Sorry!" for you! It's better than a bind!!!

Preview

Is it annoying, every time say "Sorry!", when you do a teamkill? But you think, it is really necessary? Here is the solution: Leetex' autosorry-script!

You can choose, if you just want say "Sorry!" to your teammates or to every guy on the server. Type in your "Sorry!"-Message, and every time, when you do a teamkill, the script will say it.

What you must do:
1. Move the autosorry.cfg-file in your Sauerbraten-folder.
2. Open your Sauerbratengame, click "options", go to the "autoexec.cfg"-tab and write in this:

exec autosorry.cfg

3. Click on "save" and "exec".
4. For using the script, just press W. Attention: When you restart the game, you must type in your "Sorry!"-text again.

But now - have fun with my script!

From what i see, all it does is check whether you got another kill within 200ms from your last kill to say a sorry? "Sorry", but i see no way how the hell this works..

and you also bound it to W! great way to kill EVERYONE who is using a qwerty keyboard. you are pretty smart by doing this.

I think your looking at it wrong. It looks to me like it checks if your frag quantity becomes reduced. I could be wrong.. but the use of is generally used for depicting larger or smaller quantities.

I know, you were the first with a script like this one, but in Sauer Enhanced you can't turn the script off, and you can't change the text (but it says the name, when you frag someone).The newest Sauer-version hasn't got an autosorry-script, so i made one. (:

2 things i dislike, even tough here you just can see how it works (even tough, i still dont how how xP).

1. its a very nice idea, but original from Q009 (nothing personal to Q009, he just deserves to be the first who released an official "auto-sorry" script, as far as you can call it official when you post it on quadropolis :P).
2. you've bind it on "W". This is actually 1 of the most worse keys where you could bind a script on, just because when releasing a script, you should take the default bindings, not your own (exept if you release some kinda "bindings-enhanced pack" :P). By taking a different key (like B,C,F,H,J,K,L,M,N,O,P,Q,U,V,KP0,KP1,KP2,KP3,KP4,KP5,KP6,KP7,KP8,KP9,F2,F3,F4,F5,F6,F7,F8,F9 or F10. Actually you had a chance of something like 33/58 that you would take an empty key and you still managed to take a bind thats already in used XD (,./;'[]\-=` not calculated).

just because its not that original (even tough still nice) and its binded on 1 of the most worse keys, ill give it 7/10...

P.S.
How can you kill someone when you are in spectatormode XD (" specbind W [showgui "autosorry"] ")?

I made it on "W" because I play usually on the arrow-keys. My wrong, but you can change the bind if you want. :P I thought, specbind is a good idea, when you want to change the "Sorry!"-text.

bind and editbind apply to all cases. you only use specbind in case it is a special bind that should only be used while as a spectator. its pretty useless

still. try to suicide and you get the autosorry. not a great system i tell you. unless eihrul implements a (lasftfragged) which shows the name of the person you last fraged, there ain't gonna be a correct way to make scripts like that..

So. The bug with the suicide is fixed. Thank you a lot for telling me this, i didn't notice that there was a bug. I changed the bind to P. I think, the specbind is necessary, because you can change the text, when you are a spectator.

as i said, bind and editbind cover ALL cases. since being in editmode or in spec is actually the same, you only use specbind when you want the action to be exclusive in spectator mode. try it yourself

to avoid further posts for fixes and problems with this script, here's a cropped down version that uses no extra variables and is pretty accurate (assuming double kills + teamkill are a rare occasion). enjoy :)

Leetex: ingame you told me that when a new map starts, the autosorry is activated. here's the problem:

suppose you have 10 frags from a previous match. when another map starts, it drops to 0, thus passing the first 'if' check.
your deaths also fall to 0, and while it is not bigger than $deaths, it passes the second 'if' check, resulting in the negative output which is the text.

in my version, for the autosorry to activate, it must pass both checks at once. meaning that your frags must be less than before but your deaths should be the same. if you get the picture by now, i don't need to explain more.

your autosorry is very nice razgriz, but somehow i always get the text 2 times after each other, instead of just once (example:
"Sorry!
Sorry!").

Is there any way to fix this problem?

You shouldn't use any scripts or binds... manualy writen "Sorry" is your punishment for team kill.

This script will run after called every min of a 10 min game. That way you call kill your teammate once a min :0

maybe a lot easier then all that unnecaserry stuff and easy to press anyways (only takes something like half of a second to press the "Q" when using default keybindings) :P.

i doubt 90% of the players who have been playing over a couple of months will have Q free for binding that stuff.
so i prefer automatation over things possible.

by using this you can just do /tkas 1 to turn it on, and when you're tired of it, /tkas will turn it off.

then put it on "b","c","r","v" or "x" if you want :P. takes only a bit more time to press but is just easy.
