at my first look i thought "oh , a nevil´c copy" but it isn´t such a copy, it´s a own good map :

+funny gameplay
+flaming ogros ?!
+funny to play with 12 players (or bots)
+some nice architecture

-the first time it looks like a "nevil´c" copy
-bad lightning (too much red imho)
-some mapmodels, which destroy the atmosphere
-(not important : i´m not a friend of boxes :)
-the outta side looks boring
-some narrow ways

Result : all in all a funny capture map with a funny gameplay. The problem is the design, because it really reminds me to "nevil_c" and the outta side is really boring. Also the lightning isnt my favourite one.The jumppads are a funny idea and they complete the gameplay very well, although they look a little bit (attention ^^) mysterious ! Not your best one , but with some fixes , really enjoyable.

I like the map very much. for me its even better then nevil c. the round stairs create a nice quake3 feeling.

Why does everyone scrutinize maps with similars themes? its not like its exactly the same as nevil_c... I mean seriously, the same happened with my "novus_terra" except mine was VERY similars, same structure and everything. this map is different from nevil_c it just has the same theme. seriously... ease down on the map its good :)

Not too shabby!

• Rather overpowering redness--this is fine for outside, but maybe a little whiter inside.
• Jumppads across lava aren't symmetrical--should probably both point to the island.
• Big flaming Ogro's cage's bars too thick--too much shadow, can't see ogro
• Style suggestion: remove geometry under stairway so it's more bridgey, like so: http://i29.tinypic.com/2uejxnd.jpg. (This could cause problem with greenarmor--in that image I've shifted it to the center of the gap & lowered it a little, perhaps just add chains to hang the platform on? You can make the jump to the left, but not back on the right, without adding more hallway floor (I didn't).) I'd also suggest the geometry above, but that's housing the quad damage...
• Speaking of which--wood textures don't exactly fix.
• Building facade too dull. :( Spice it up!
• Some geometry gridpower mismatch on the rock/islands. Not noticeable.
• You used the push-pull trick to get geometry to fit together right--okay, but texture the hidden faces with skytexture and set skytexture 0. (Even though they're hidden, they're still rendered--this fixes that.)
• Experiment: use materialreset and load a lava texture for water, then replace lava with water+death for transparent lava surface. (Turn waterfog way up, though.)
• I like the keyhole-shaped jumppad "chimneys", but jumppads don't look like jumppads... particle effects? (Also, sometimes hard to get into the "chimney"--I bonk my head on the ceiling)
• Speaking of which--the "chimney" top near the yellow armor is entirely invisible in the shadow.
• Speaking of which--check the floor edging in front of the yellow armor. It's missing a piece. (Perhaps it's been broken off?)
• Nearby on both sides, there are two texture errors (on each side) caused by that geometry push-pull trick.
• Speaking of which--that ceiling texture (the diagonal tiles) doesn't fit (in the style sense) between the stairway and yellow armor's hallway.
• And the "baseboards" running around the base of the map are kinda high. Only a first-impression kinda thing, though.
• Color-coding is lost with the pure red lighting.
• Lava pickup indicators are nice, but would look better without scroll... is this possible?

I haven't played Quake, and only Doom 3, but I'm definitely getting the same kind of vibe here. All it's missing is floating rocks, monster, and overuse of bumpmaps. :P

Edit2: Also visually differentiate bases, teleports, pickups. And the teleport goes directly into a base...?

i just said it reminds me to "nevil_c" , but i love nevil_c , so i like loth , too ^^
