Blurb Minoan - Conceptual Maze Map.

Detailed description

Conceptual Maze map.
By RaZgRiZ, Catelite, and myself.

If the scale is not enough to make you give up instantly, then the sheer number of incorrect pathways is.

-Detail is nothing fancy due to scale.
-There are no paths ( 0 ) that loop around in the entire maze, and there are Two paths ( 2 ) longer than the real path, both lead to dead ends of course. ;)
-Tricks to help you through, Drop waypoints to see where you've been. The map is dark so they show up well.
-Try to steer to the right if your in the first quarter of the maze, there is a T in there somewhere and if you go left you will end up going for long time to meet a dead end. ( Its one of those two crazy long paths )

The END is at the exact opposite corner from the beginning.

There are two "Guiding stars" above the teleport at the end that can be seen from the low areas of the maze or when you are inline with them in the deep areas.

ok on the content, (im going to try to look past the fact that you are an admin; a leader of the commnunity):

The Map is adiquate, althoug on the fun scale, which i assume that you were trying to go for on this map i would say it lacks. I would rather be on a clan map, or a slide map, a trick jump map; point being there is not chalange to the map, rather it is a boarding very long maze, at least, it a trick map i have to try to improve my skill this is only a simple mindless rat race.

Things that would improve this map, MAKE IT SHORTER, its way to long. I got about 1/4 throught the map in like 30 min. Also make the user feel or know when they are going the right way, this is as ez a simple color coding, this will make the userr think that he has accoplied something, Even if it accually a step backwards.

Also i would make the wrong ways less long, this get realy annoying when you go 3 or for min the wrong way and then you dont know which one to go to so you have to kill yourself and start over, or double back. You can incress the amount of wrong options with less length to each one.

Over all i really cannot believe you spent 80 hours on this map, it is interesting, like as interesting as my mom's cooking (she burns water). But i think that this map, (not the gametype), is to long and boarding. It has nothing that really wants you to finish the map, no real fun to the map.

I agree, it is long, it is boring. Color coding is a good idea and perhaps different textures could make up for the basic geometry.

The 80 hours were on and off for about 30 minute periods; this was started back in December if that gives you an idea. The map serves little purpose other than to say "We've already done that." The reason I most wanted to post it is just to show the scale of it, and who knows.. somebody might be crazy enough to complete it.

As for the fun factor, I don't know many people who find mazes fun anyways and when I started the project it wasn't really aimed at fun, it was aimed at the awe factor brought on by seeing the entire maze when you spawn. I mostly hope ( personally ) that people just stare at the ludicrous scale in amazement, Im not worried if they give up after that. ;)

Perhaps Ill knock out some walls, lay down way-points and let 32 bots duke it out. :/

I removed them because they were vile and were not something that needed be seen by the community, plus, as per usual, you were trying to start an argument. I tried to solve the problem before it arose. You should really try to improve your attitude, people won't post negative replies or censor your comments.

Thats all done now, it is behind us.
And as a side note, I did not see the reply format properly before. All the comments are also gone because the old forum node was deleted and I moved it to a Conceptual SP map.

Really too big (1/8 would have is enough), too empty, and excess in 2D to my taste. But good idea all the same.
It's a pity that we cannot create of scripts of control of the bots to solve this labyrinth (always to turn of the same quoted that reminds you no good old man screensaver !? ;)
