Detailed description

This tool, helps mappers create texture configuration files, created with Visual Basic.Net might work for Linux domone should test in wine, this tool will get the job done. fast simple and codded in less then 60 lines this tool sure got what it takes to help any one including advance users, this tool was originally created to make the default_map_settings.cfg for Kill--Field but I thought Id release it for the public so here it is introducing Sauerbraten Texture Tool / Generator.

To use simply extract the 2 files from the zip folder to a location run the tool.exe and follow the onscreen instructions.

All it does is add "texture 0 "DIR/Name" Which is Not very helpful.
It does allow editing in the window, but I can automate things like that in Notepad++, which then also does both.

Consider this; allow a set up that will allow you to pick out which are normal maps, displacement, etc. then build in accordance to that, and setting an appropriate shader based on the texture maps supplied.

Most people name their Normals, Spec, and Disp. EX. _n, _normal, _d, _disp, or _s, _spec, so allow those to be picked via a gui ( Please enter the last X digits of a normal map file ) and make it make a slightly more useful config.

its helpful but its because of certan reasons, but the cfg maker seem a bit pointless for these two reasons. one: if anyone like me relized, you can copy other people's cfgs and edit it and clear it with notepad then re-write the stuff. and two: you could just make your computer show file types and change one of your notepads .txt files to .cfg... as for the rest, i don't know as much about...

This is just what everyone needs! Is it just me, or has mapping textures taken 90% less time now?

it looks at your files and makes a list that has lines like: texture 0 "penguins/textures/grass_01.jpg"
did you even try it, suicizer? it's afairly simple program, and i thought even you would be able to figure it out.

after i once added some kinda script in a sp-map from quadro into my sauerbratenfolder, that screwed up my intirely settings, i wont test it be4 i know what it exactly does, and how 2 start it up.

now i know whats doing, i actually would like to know, how is it working (u gotta add some kinda "alias", eerm k?)
so, could u plz explain, how does it work (on such a way that people that just started scripting can understand ,plz)?

If you were to take the time to actually observe it, you'd see that it has nothing to do with the sauerbraten files, apart from making a config which is Manually placed.

ONE TRICK, is to LOOK at the files...
