Detailed description

Temple Of Lost Souls started out as just a basic idea, but developed into a very big and fun map - there is a "jump-room" so be forewarned! ;)

also - i apologize for the high WQD count in the beginning of the map (outside of the temple) -- there was no way i could find to keep it down without compromising the level idea - you may need a pretty fast PC to run this map smoothly. This only affects the very start of the map - most of the level takes place INSIDE the temple. Once you get INSIDE the temple, the WQD count is very much in reason for the rest of the map.

i haven't had a chance to play this (trying to get CL ready for a new release very soon) but i did fly through it and it looks great. i'll get you a more in depth comment later, but expirience tells me that this will be a very good level!

I like it. A good singleplayer map. Though the detailing and texturing is quite the same throughout the map, it´s okay.

The idea is just very good. The high wqd at the beginning is just fine, since there´s no fight anyways, but that big pyramid is a great starting theme. Jumping far down, and fighting through those small corridors at first feels very atmospheric. I usually hate claustrophobic maps, but in this case it fits right in.. you really feel like exploring a pyramid, well done.
Intresting situations, and a good big end-fight (at least I think so, coz I died there) :P
Liked the way how ammo and health was sparse, and sometimes in places that would need a little effort to get.

The only crit I´d have is that there was sometimes a little much going on with triggers, some situations where you would ask yourself wich of the switches to use first.

Overall well done, feels like there was some thought put into this :)

Wow. This one really surprised me. Major points for making a map that seemed multi-level without resorting to mapmodels. My only suggestions would be to fix the texture bug near the entrance, change the corners in the room with the jump puzzle from 1 8x8 corner to 4 2x2 corners to avoid clipping issues, and change the fog to black (personal preferance). Other than that, it's pretty much perfect.

can you elborate on this, i dont think i fully understand what you mean by clipping issues, and i dont understand the corner thing either. any chance you could post a screenshot of what you mean?

What you have:

Notice that I am floating even though I am not in edit mode. This is because the physics engine regards corners as regular cubes.

finally, a new SP map!

i loved the start, the corridors and such.. it really felt room-over-room! and i also liked the secret trigger near the end where you could go back to the start, well done! though i do agree the 8x8 corner is annoying.

The beginning of the map was nice in that the open space gave me room to fight then once I gotten into the temple, it was very tight. But a fun map. 5/5

yeah the start of the map looks really good BUT I CANT GET UP THE STAIRS because of the mapmodels. i can see that they are meant to be a kind of pillar from the screenshot but they seem to be the bridge mapmodel.
